Google Maps Typography

A very interesting image i found by accident. Its the work of Rhette Dashwood. a creative director based in Melbourne who took some time flicking through tones of google map hoping to find land formation of buildings resembling letter forms.

Letter 'C'

Seeing this reminds me of some of the things that we discovered / found while doing an elective in experiemental typography from 2nd year. We had to go around the college to collect and capture objects that may have accidentally have been placed together in such a way that they may represent an abstract or obvious letter form.

Letter 'K'

Typography wise, putting them letters together I reckon would look pretty awful, but using the images together in photographic collage I would be an interesting concept.
