CHRISTOPHER HEWITT

Christopher Hewitt is a self taught freelance director, designer and photographer based in London. His works are mostly designed for broadcast, cinema output as well as contents designed specifically for film festivals. He creates ads, promos and short films which have been shown in festivals such as The Aubagne Film Festival, OneDotZero and Promax. He’s work has also been recognised for industry publication such as IdN, stash and Creative review. His clientele include EMI Records, BBC, and Discovery channel.

One of his recent work aired on TV is the Teatly Red ad. Commissioned by John St, Toronto. Chris teamed up with German power house Sehucht to create the commercial inspired by Africa where the tea is grown and picked. I found the work very creative and charming.

TEATLY RED - TV ad

The spot is fluidic in nature, slightly abstract. A journey through underwater world which was build entirely from the red bush tea.

The brief was to create a rich and elegant representation of the continent of Africa and its culture.

55DSL SKIN - Promo

55DSL Skin. The ad commissioned by 55DSL for their new 2009 range of clothing directed by Chris reminds me in a very disjointed way the short film viral for Prada called trembled blossoms aired at the New York Fashion week.

" The films beautiful aesthetic and confident yet mysterious story makes it a great viral targeted at the trends setters"

THINGS FALL APART - Short Film

Things Fall Apart is a short film directed by Chris Hewitt in collaboration with Rob Chiu of Ronin. "The piece explores a childs pent up anger and frustrations that erupts in a force that marks the end of innocence." (starring jordan Chiu)
