PORTFOLIO CRIT - Micheal Tabner

I had my portfolio reviewed on the 16th December 2008. It was reviewed by Micheal Tabner who is the head of multimedia and graphics for World harvest church where I attend up at the media city.

I have always admired the work that they create and have been intrigued with the fun and effective ideas they come up with and how they are cleverly put together. The multimedia team is required to produce promo materials (adverts, video notices, flyers, posters etc) as well as maintain the running website on a regular bases as much as every week which are always filled with fresh fun ideas.

For my portfolio crit session, I showed him some of my work from last year. My rhythm work, current TV ad, Discovery Channel ident as well as my Becks Fusion animation.

He liked my work and told me of stuff to watch out for when creating my work. Stuff like paying attention to fonts and title safe areas which are very crucial if am producing stuff for broadcast.

He also adviced that ideas are better understood if fully developed before production.

The portfolio crit lasted for about 40min which i think went well. And all the advice will be taken on board on further projects. He also said i could come round anytime if i need advice on any of my projects and could come and check out some of the software they use in their office.

he will be given me a copy of the works that they have done to be included in my blog.
